Dear Church Family & Friends:

What a joy it is to be part of such a loving church family. Sonja and I are so blessed to minister alongside each of you. Thank you for your prayers and your encouragement daily. God has already begun to show us some exciting things that He is doing in this new year. Tell people about Jesus and what He is doing in your church and invite them to come and see. The Valentine’s banquet is always a lot of fun, so don’t miss this time of fellowship together. Our Wednesday night Bible study just seems to get better and better. It is great to see our people wanting to study and learn what God has for us in His Word. Thanks to all who are working with and in the choir to get ready for the Easter program. Pray about joining them and let God bless you. There are so many places for us to serve and be involved in what God is doing, so find your place and join Him in the work. I look forward to seeing you in our Father’s house. May God bless all who make up Snowdoun Baptist Church and use us for His kingdom’s glory. Let’s all keep praying, keep trusting, keep looking up … Jesus is coming again!

Dear Church Family & Friends:

As I look back on the past year and think about all that God has done, it is truly amazing. I could write pages on how He has worked in so many ways. I give Him all the praise and glory.

Now we look ahead to a new year and new opportunities to do the great work that He has called each of us to do. My prayer for the year ahead is that God would use us in greater ways than ever before. May each of us make a fresh commitment to be the best servant and the best example that we can be for the glory of God. Let each one of us work together in the year ahead to accomplish all that God would have us to do.

I wish each of you a new year filled with health, happiness and most of all, the joy of the Lord. I look forward to serving our Savior and all of you in 2012.

Where Is Your Faith?

Pastor Steve preached this Sunday out of Luke 8:22-25 on the importance of having faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ. He asked us to consider why we often do not trust God to fulfill his promises and allow ourselves to misplace our faith in something or someone other than God, even when these things lead to disappointment. He offered Jesus’s trying night in Gethsemane (Luke 22:39-46) as an example of being fully trusting and pointed out that we cannot please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6).

Girls in Action

The Girls in Action (GAs) worked at the Forest Park Ministry Center last month. We worked with the food ministry and sorted clothes and school supplies for the clients. The summer intern, Victoria Bye, shared with us about the work going on at the center. Please join the GAs in keeping this ministry in your prayers. – Tammy Rolling

Last Wednesday night I asked several people to email me a few good words about our pastor, Steve Campbell. Here are their responses:

“I’ve been in ministry for 33 years and have never met a man like our Pastor, Steve Campbell. He is so dedicated to the Lord through his life, his wife and family and his church. He and his son are in business together, full-time, but his ministry is also full time. How he juggles his time and seems to get everything done, is a miracle in itself. What a blessing it is to serve with a man of God! He has the Lord’s message prepared and ready to preach each and every week, Sunday’s and Wednesday’s. He makes time for personal visits, both hospitals and homes and always has time to stop and be a Brother for folks like me. Blume 2011

This summer has been very busy for my youth group. With God’s help, we were able to get through it and have a lot of fun along the way. On July 12th we were able to go on a trip to Orlando – Disney World to be exact. Don’t worry we didn’t go there just to ride the rides and see our favorite Disney character; we were attending Blume. Blume is a four day Baptist convention for girls 7th grade through College and it only comes around once every four years. I’ve been waiting to go for eight years and it was worth the wait. I had the pleasure of sharing this event with my amazing Aunt, our Acteens leader, Tammy Rolling, and my best friend, Holly Brock. It was an amazing experience. I have attended many conferences before but none like this. We had many speakers for the conference but the main speaker was Chandra Peele. She really made me think deeper about God and helped me grow closer to Him.

We were able to do so many things in just that short week, it was unbelievable. We did have three free passes to three Disney parks of our choice. We rode and saw all we could and it was so much fun. I had never been to Disney World before. I was really excited about going but to be honest I enjoyed just spending time with God and my group more than I did anything in Disney World that week. We had some crazy things happen to us while we were there but nothing God couldn’t handle. Sharing a hotel with hundreds of teenage girls got a little crazy, crowded and maybe a little annoying sometimes, but we made it. My point is that even with all of the amazing things at Disney and all of the craziness, it just made God stand out even more. Because, in all of that, God had His hands over everyone and that was the best experience of my week. I will never forget my trip to Blume and I am thankful that God gave me the opportunity to go. We learned so much over that week, I hope that everyone that went will take what they learned and use it for God’s Glory. I want to thank all of you who prayed for us while we were gone and who supported us in any way. Remember that no matter what you are going through in your life – God is there, He is in everything and He is in control. Just look for him! God Bless!

Community Notes of Interest

Senior Center at Snowdoun Women’s Club – Seniors 60 or over are invited to meet 9:30 to 1:00 P.M. daily to enjoy games, activities, fellowship. Lunch will be served at ll:30 for only $1.25 per meal. Volunteers to assist will be welcomed.
